Detect HIV 10 days post-exposure

We are the only private sexual health clinic in the UK to offer in-house early HIV detection, using GeneXpert.

Whilst most HIV tests look for antibodies or antigens (after 28 days + of contact), the GeneXpert HIV test looks for the HIV virus itself.

This advanced machinery can be found in the NHS’s flagship Dean Street Clinic.

HIV Testing FAQs

1. How long will it take to get my HIV test results?

Our fastest HIV test produces accurate results within 20 minutes after taking the sample.

Our standard HIV test (where a blood sample is sent to the lab) results will be available in 3-4 working days.

Our GeneXpert HIV test provides results within 2.5 hours, after loading the sample.

2. What if my HIV test is positive?

If your HIV test is positive, our Specialists will refer you a NHS HIV clinic to ensure you get on the path to recovery ASAP.

3. Can I get a HIV test certificate?

Of course. Whether you need this for work, for a visa or for reassurance, we can either print or e-mail you a copy of your HIV certificate.

4. Can I prevent getting HIV?

Yes. We offer effective HIV prevention medication – PrEP & PEP – which are taken, respectively, before or after exposure to the HIV virus.

Learn more about them here.

5. Is my HIV test confidential?

Yes. Absolutely. We DO NOT SHARE your HIV test results with anyone. Your HIV test results will stay with us. The NHS or your GP will not have access to your HIV test result.
